First aid knowledge - fracture fixation

When the bone is struck by external force, it is called a fracture when it occurs completely or incompletely.

Classification

According to whether the fracture end is connected with the outside world:

(1) Closed fracture: the fracture end is to pierce the skin

(2) Open fracture: the end of the fracture pierces the skin

Judge

(1) pain and tenderness;

(2) swelling

(3) deformity

(4) dysfunction

Fix the purpose of pain relief, braking, reduce the pain of the wounded, prevent the injury from aggravating and shock, protect the wound, prevent infection, and facilitate transportation.

Fixed method

Forearm fracture fixation

The splint is placed on the outside of the forearm of the fracture. The protruding part of the fracture should be padded. Then the two joints of the wrist and elbow are fixed (eight-shaped fixation of the chest). The forearm is flexed and suspended by the cantilever sling, and the injured limb is fixed to the injured thorax by the cantilever sling.

Upper arm fracture fixation

The splint is placed on the outside of the upper arm of the fracture, and the protruding part of the fracture is padded. Then the elbow and shoulder joints are fixed. The upper arm is flexed and suspended by the cantilever sling, and the injured limb is fixed to the injured thorax by the cantilever sling.

Clavicle fracture fixation

T-splitting plate fixation method: T-shaped plywood is placed on the shoulder scapula, the cotton pad is placed on the fracture, and then the cantilever sling is wrapped around the shoulder for two weeks, and the splint end is fixed with the cantilever sling.

Fracture fixation of leg

Place the splint on the outside of the fractured calf, and place the fracture on the protruding part. Then fix the upper and lower ends of the wound and the joints of the knee and ankle (eight-shaped fixed ankle joint), and fix the top of the splint.
