Medical forearm sling

Medical forearm sling is a commonly used suspension and fixation brace after upper limb injury. Its core function is to stabilize the affected limb in the chest functional position at a 90-degree elbow flexion

Core applicable scenarios

• Soft tissue strains and sprains in the forearm, wrist and elbow

• Auxiliary fixation after reduction of fractures of the clavicle, forearm and wrist

• Short-term braking protection after shoulder dislocation and elbow dislocation reduction

• Support and protection of the affected limb during early ambulation after upper limb surgery

Main function

• Stable support：Relying on the shoulder and trunk, it resists the gravitational pull of the affected limb and prevents abnormal movement of the fracture ends

• Reduce swelling and pain：Elevate the affected limb to a level close to the heart to promote venous and lymphatic return and reduce local congestion

• Prevent secondary displacement ‌：Restrict the wide range of motion of the shoulder and elbow joints to avoid muscle traction that may cause displacement of the fracture fragment after reduction

• assist in daily activities ‌：Transfer the weight of the arm to the healthy shoulder to reduce the risk of accidental collision with the affected limb when walking and turning
  
  

Safe use boundary

• Maintain a 90-degree flexion of the elbow joint throughout the wearing process, and avoid merely suspending the wrist in midair

• Soft cloth must be placed under the contact areas of the neck and armpits to prevent skin abrasion from prolonged friction

• The tightness should be such that one or two fingers can be easily inserted. If it is too tight, it will compress the nerves and blood vessels

• During the wearing period, gently move the fingers every day to prevent muscle atrophy and joint stiffness
